I have a strong feeling that this question has been asked a handful of times before, but I really just want to make sure my bun is okay.
I adopted an adorable mixed breed bunny around 6 months ago, named Little Bear. One thing that caught my eye about him was that he had one ear up and one ear down. I didn’t really think anything of it since I’ve been around lops that were “late bloomers” and didn’t have floppy ears right away, but now that he’s almost fully grown I’m a little concerned.
I know he isn’t annoyed or angry because he binkies a lot, with his ears in that same position, but could there be something wrong with his ear? He doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable or in any sort of pain, and he doesn’t have any problems with hearing. Could he have a weak ear base? Is it an injury he got before I adopted him? Or is he most likely just part lop?

Some rabbits have up and down ears, and it’s perfectly normal.

Yes, perfectly normal. Ear carriage has to do with the shape of the crown of the head, if the crown never develops into the shape needed on each side, the ear will remain lopped or even partially lopped (like my Luna whose ears often stick out sideways). It’s very common in mixed breeds and poorly bred lops with poor standard.

Ah, okay. Thank you so much for all your help! I was just a little worried because when I Googled it, the primary thing that showed up was the likelihood of them having problems with their ear.

It can mean there’s an ear-problem if an uppy-eared bunny suddenly gets one loppy ear. But in your buns case it seems to be just how God made him =) It’s adorable!

I have no idea of it.
