Lately it seems that Cocoa is grinding her teeth. She’s laying as she normally does, she’s eating and drinking normally, her tummy feels normal, and not acting any differently what so ever. But, for some reason she is definitely grinding her teeth. Or maybe she’s just purring really hard? I just don’t really know what to think of this, and if I should be worried or not.

It can be hard to tell sometimes, Bandit used to grind in contentment when he was just laying around, but at times it was quite loud.

I tend to think that pain grinding is more of a crunching sound, and relaxed grinding is more of a purring or grinding sound. It’s quite possible she may have a little bit of gas though, you could always give some simethicone as a precaution

Is simethicone only available from a vet? And thank you for the advice!

No………………………………………… WalMart has it. $3.62 for a bottle. Hint: They moved it out of the non prescription drug area and it’s now in the infant/toddler section.

Where I live simethicone can be bought off the shelf from a chemist (drug store) in the infant section as mentioned. I’m not sure about supermarkets etc, but it is easy to find

Edit: And it won’t be called simethicone. Here our common brand is Infacol, but it’s probably sold under many names. Simethicone is the active ingredient. Ask for baby gas drops if you have trouble finding them.

My bun has recently started fringing his teeth… usually when he does he’s laying in a loaf position. He hops around just fine, still seems like his energetic self. Still eating, drinking, pooping…. doesn’t eat as much hay as he used to so maybe that has something to do with it? I’m not seeing any sign of pain besides the chattering, & I’m a first time bunny mom, so just wondering about what others thought.
