You can look on amazon for some cheap clippers. We just use my dog’s clippers because they work just fine. When you clip, you must make sire that your bunny is still and calm. If your bunny is moving while you are clipping you risk hurting your bunny. Amazon is whee I would recommend buying your clippers.

I just use a cheap pair of cat nail clippers, the scissor kind. My buns are calm enough that it’s easy for me to cut them myself. To make sure you avoid the quick of the nail (the blood vessel) I also squeeze the clippers on the nail first without cutting, and if they flinch, I’m either on or too close to the quick, so I re position. If they don’t flinch, it’s safe to cut.

I read somewhere that it was recommended to use bird nail clippers. I ordered a pair from eBay or Amazon (I can’t remember). Then I was scared I would hurt him so I didn’t use them. I watched many youtube videos on how to clip them then I had the vet tech show me how and its easy. Just take it slow and if you can only get one toe at first try again later, you’ll soon have them all! My guy is just like oh no here she comes again with the darn bird clippers!! I swear he rolls his eyes at me! LOL!
Ive raised dogs for 29 years and I don’t know why I get so scared of hurting the bun. I guess because they are rather fragile. But patience on the part of their humans is key. Slow…and don’t give up!

ETA- wrapping ur bun, securely in a towel, if they kick a lot, will help to minimize them fretting, and, injury to yourself

I watched a video once on this and when I tried it it worked wonders. I bought tiny kittie clippers. Placed her on a towel and held her with one arm under her upper body with her weight on her hind legs. She didnt mind me clipping the front. I just gave kisses and spoke to her the whole time. When clipping I gently squuezed the clippers where I was going to clip 2 times and if she didn’t pull back I clipped on the 3rd squeeze. That helped to ensure I wasnt going to hit the wick. For the hind legs I stayed in that position and carefully switched her weight onto one leg so she could comfortably stick the other out for me to clip doing it the same way. Then switch her weight to the leg and repeat. Seemed to work well. The kittie clippers were $6 at the pet store. I hope I’ve helped!

I get them for a few dollars from Walmart. Nail clipping s somethign you can do yourself, no need to go to a vet for that. There are some great youtube videos on it. What color is Lilo’s hair and nails? The clear nails are easy to see the quick. The dark nails are more tricky. Keep a small amount of cornstarch handy as a blood-stop incase you nip the quick. But hopefully that will never happen! I’ve never noppsed a quick. Check yoru bunny’s nails once a month. That’s probably how often they’ll need a trim. If you need help with the bunny burrito (to keep her still), there are good youtube videos about that aswell.
