We’ve lost a Dutch cultural icon yesterday: Dick Bruna passed away. He is the creator of Miffy, or “Nijntje” in its original language Dutch. “Nijntje” is short for the word “konijntje” (rabbit), like a toddler would pronounce the word.

Both kids and adults fell in love with his simplistic yet powerful art style and Miffy’s cuteness. My grandpa used to read “Miffy at the zoo” with me a lot, because animals always fascinated me. What’s your favourite Miffy book?

RIP Dick Brunna and thank you for Miffy!

          Still popular today. : )

Im pretty certain there is a claymation version of Miffy that airs here on a Childrens channel.

That little cartoon bunny is super cute. I should get some books for my daughter.
