So my holland lop Freddy is 6 months old. I’ve had him for about two weeks and when I first brought him home, he used to run around the room all the time and spend time with me. After about three or four days with me, he started to lay around all day and not binky or zoom around as much as had before. Now he doesn’t really come out of his sleeping spots until people come to visit. He still binkys and zooms but only late late at night and early early morning. I realize bunnies sleep during the day, but I’m just worried because he just lies around all the time and I heard that they are supposed to get two hours of exercise per day. Also, he’s still lovey and friendly and gives tons of kisses, but he just doesn’t seem to care about being around me as much. He doesn’t really lay next to me for head pets anymore. He also hasn’t reached sexual maturity yet and I heard that may happen soon? Could this be linked? Any ideas on why my sweet bunny just seems a little distant lately?

He sounds perfectly normal -“lounging throughout the day, active early morning and evening. He was probably just excited when you first got him and wanted to zoom around all the time.

You say he doesn’t seem bothered about being around you but yet he still gives kisses and is very loving?

They need more than two hours exercise by the way, if they are normally caged.

Oh yeah he’s only caged during the night and like three or four hours during the day. He spends most of his time free range. Its just that i was worried that he wasn’t actually being active enough during his free time.

Ah okay Sometimes they do have lazy days so as long as there’s no other symptoms that are concerning, I wouldn’t worry. Sometimes my two will be active for hours and then the next day, they have to catch up on relaxing
