Hello everyone I just wanted to let people know about what happened with my little bunny in case it is significant to anyone else on the forum at all.

I noticed about ten days ago that Ralphie’s ear had bent at the tip. I researched this online but I couldn’t find anything that came up with any potential problems so I just left it aone as he seemed to be completely fine in himself (he was still eating, drinking and playing as normal).

However, a day or two after that, he started to get unwell – I noticed the weight had fallen off him and when I weighed him he had gone from 890g to just 550g in about a week and a half! I quickly took my bunny to the vets asap and they were very concerned for him and weren’t sure if he was going to live.

Anyway, a week later, after three times a day syringe feeding him critical care formula, he is doing much much better and his ear is back up as normal!

I am not sure if the ear thing was an indicator that he wasn’t feeling great so I just wanted people to know in case anyone notices this happen with their bunny at all and that you should probably just take him/her to the vets for a wee check up

Lots of bunny love and hugs,

        Kate x

Well, thank you for this! Did they happen to discern what the cause of this illness was?

              Hello!

He actually had a little parasite but I think the war thing was coz he was so weak from the weight loss he had experienced as a result of the parasite! Poor baby <3 thankfully he's all better now and three times heavier than what he was when he became ill! Yay!
