Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a very lovely day today! I’ve been on this forum for a month or two now learning and reading some threads, but have not introduced myself yet. I am relatively new to the rabbit world, this is the first time I’ve had my own bun (when I was young, we had a family bunny named Lucky) and I am absolutely in love with rabbits! My plan was to adopt a chinchilla as I adore those fuzzy little critters, but after realizing my house would get too hot in the summer for them, I decided it wouldn’t be fair to adopt one. I never really intended to get a bunny, but one day whilst at the SPCA, I saw the most adorable little bunny named Finley and after being heartbroken about not being able to get a chin, I decided a rabbit might be worth looking into! I went home and researched like crazy, I returned all my chinchilla supplies and bought rabbit supplies instead. I returned a week or two later to see if Finley could come home with me (I especially wanted to get him as he had a glaucoma and I knew he’d be the rabbit that nobody else wanted) but he was no longer at the shelter due to a “medical emergency”. I decided to give the other buns a chance and went to meet them all, they were lovely creatures bouncy and filled with energy. None of them really clicked with me though. Then as I went to the last cage, I saw a HUGE white rabbit and decided to meet her. Her name was willow as she was called by the rescue when they got her. She was so sweet and calm and just ate food out of my hand! I knew she was the rabbit for me. This is how my little willow ended up with me, I wish she wasn’t named willow, but after being called that her whole life, I didn’t want to change it on her (I’m not sure if rabbits know their names or not but still). She’s a free range rabbit as I had rabbit-proofed my house in prep for her and I think that she enjoys having her own house (she graciously allows me to live in it sometimes). She’s one of many critters to call this house her home as I have several hamsters, gerbils, lizards, fish, and dogs! I try to be the best bun slave to her I can be and I hope to learn how to spoil her more on this forum! Thank you for your time

Hi! She sounds amazing . I hope she makes friends with all her adopted brothers and sisters. Post a pic when you get a chance (and maybe throw something in the background to scale her size bc I’m curious to see how “huge” she is!)

Hi there and welcome. What a lovely bun. You could change her name if it sounds similar and has same syllables I’m sure she won’t mind. …
although I think willow is lovely.
