My bun Cocoa is 2 years old and she is spayed. Her litter box habits are pretty good, except for one thing. She likes to pee on my bed sometimes. I can never figure out why. Does anyone know why she may be doing this, or how I can make her stop? Thank you!

Many bunnies like to pee on soft things like a bed or sofa. 2 of my 4 are like that – They have peed on the cat bed, a chair cushion I left on the floor, and their fleece vet bedding. Therefore – I don’t allow them on the bed or couch. Some people have suggested placing a litterbox on the bed, or various other methods.I think the simplest is – if your bunny is one of those bunnies – just don’t let her on your bed.

Bunnies most likely pee on beds as a territorial thing. That’s the place that smells most like you. Bunny wants it to smell like her.

How do you keep them off the beds or sofas?

Well, the only time I ever put them on the bed was to wrap them in a towl and trim their nails. So I imagine they don’t want to get up ont he bed. It’s also really tall and I dont’ know how they would get up. I don’t let them in the lounge because I have dogs too. I have a baby gate up at the end of the hallway, so my bunnies only have acess to the hallway and the 3 bedrooms, but not the main part of the house. The beds are all really tall. I can’t imagine a bunny jumping up. I’ve honestly wondered how other people bunnies get on their beds, and how tall their beds are. I block off the beds so the bunnies can’t get under them either, or they will chew the spring box.
