So my bunny, Totoro, is 3 months old and he’s usually really active, happy, binky hopping everywhere… But today, I left the cage door open as usual, and he eats, drinks, but for some reason, he’s been lounging all day… Just stays inside his cage, not in a defensive stance but just comfortably laying. He sometimes comes out but only to lounge against a wall.

Are these the signs of him being sad? Or are bunnies just lazy during the day? If I’m around, he’s excited but not today.

        I’m concerned, that’s all

They are dawn and dusk animals so if you’re letting them out in the afternoon they are going to sit whether in or out of the cage. Try to let them out in the morning or evening and you’ll see a change. Also, sometimes buns are just lazy. One of mine does that sometimes, I just do my best to at least get him out of the cage. Maybe get some toys that have treats inside. I went to Hobby Lobby and got a small untreated wooden box and hid treats in it. They will focus on getting that out and then be excited once they do! haha
