How can I tell if a basket is safe for my bun? While I was looking around Walmart yesterday I saw some nice baskets I think would make a nice sleeping/lounging spot for my bun. I didn’t get it because I was not sure it was safe.

One just said Willow on the tag. The other one said seagrass. One, I can’t remember which one, said China.

Any help on safe or unsafe? They were really nice baskets.

I won’t buy anything that isn’t specifically made for a rabbit (or any pet for that matter) for my bun. Simply because you don’t know what kinds of dyes, stains, glues, or sealants went into that basket. I’m lucky enough that my mom weaves her own baskets so I know what the materials are and where they’re coming from. Otherwise I know stores like Petsmart has some seagrass/ hay baskets for bunnies that would be safe, too. I just wouldn’t want to try something that may not be safe

            Ditto above answer.

BinkyBunny store has a good selection of baskets.
