Hello! So i did the impossible. I bonded my bunnies a neutered male and am unneutered male. They have been bonded for over a year then I finally got my other male neutered as well, everything was fine for a few days but now the one who was fixed a long time ago is acting very stand offish and off almost like before they were bonded but not quite as bad, am I going to have to re-bond them does anyone know what this may be? Thanks so much!!!

Hormones make the bunny smell a certain way. When neutered, the scent changed so, yes you will need to re-bond.

Separate them for now, but keep them in the same room within hearing-, smelling- and, preferably, seeing-distance. It’s very common for a newly neutered boy to have hormonal surges the first few weeks after the neuter. This might very well be what the other bun is sensing now. During this time all hormonally driven behavior like aggression, territoriality and sexual interest can become enhanced, sometimes very much so. During this time it’s best to keep the buns separate, so no bad fighting breaks out. As you know, buns can hold a grudge.

Then you can start rebonding them. You did a great job with the “impossible” bond, I must say, this time it’ll hopefully be easier.
