Does anybody feed their buns dried fruit? I’m dehydrating apples and bananas now and am curious if I can give them to Charlie as a treat – of course not in large amounts.

What are your buns favorite vegetables? I’m trying to increase Charlie’s variety because she gets bored of the same things quick but am interested to her what everyone else’s bunnies like to have in their daily ‘salad.’

As of now Charlie has had and seems to like this: (I typically give 2-3 a day)

cilantro, parsley, romaine lettuce, spring mix salad, dandelion leaves, basil, carrots (very small amounts), banana

that’s all I can think of though I’m sure I’m missing something. I tried fresh apple and she wouldn’t touch it and also tried a sugar snap pea and she wouldn’t go near it.

        Thanks!

Both of my little monsters love dried cranberries. I get them from thehayexperts.co.uk because they have no added sugar. And they’re already halved so it’s easy to just give one or two pieces. They get it as their bedtime treat

For their salad, they get 5 or 6 of the following (although I’m upping it to 7): romaine lettuce, coriander, rocket, watercress, bok choy, spring greens, flat leaf parsley, mint, thyme, Chinese leaf lettuce, dill, curly kale, rosemary and chicory. They love it all with the exception of mint and rosemary (they’re not sure about it yet) They absolutely love coriander and dill the most I think though along with romaine.

I sometimes give Bam a slice of dried apple or pear. He goes absolutely crazy for it, but he can only have it once a week or so since he’s prone to plumpness. His favorite veg right now seems to be fennel. In the summer, dandelion and plantain are big favorites.

Chester really likes raisins and craisins, but he doesn’t get a lot because they’re store bought and have added sugar. My roommate does dried apples in the dehydrator and really likes those! I have to try dehydrating banana and seeing if he likes that – banana chips are the love of his life

Bilbo loves dehydrated bananas .-. the pellets I got him (Vita Prima Sunseed mix) has a few of them scattered in it. When I first fed it to him, he found one and was hopping around his cage with it in his mouth. I didn’t know what he had or was so happy about till I saw him finally settle down and chew on it. Though he only gets about 1-2 pieces a week. I haven’t been seeing them in his pellet bag so I think they’re all gone.

His salad for this week is made up of Romaine lettuce and mustard greens. He loves bok choy though it’s more pricey and he doesn’t care for the stems. He only likes the leaves. So I just get him lettuce now. Cilantro and parsley don’t agree with him so I stopped giving him those. He also hates blueberries and apple. Or at least won’t eat them, I’m not sure if he would eat them if they were dehydrated.

Jake’s all time favorite are the little dried papaya bits. Originally I got the ones for small animals but I found it cheaper to just buy the ones for people (same thing; only ingredient is papaya, I just gotta chop it up more).

He also loves banana (of course haha) but he isn’t keen on banana chips. Usually I freeze about 1/8 slices of bananas and let him knaw on it for awhile; it takes him longer than a fresh banana would so he can enjoy it for longer.

He’s also had a bit of dried apple from the Hay Experts (got it in a happy bunny box!) and a bit of dried carrot from the Hay Experts. He really liked both (and I uhm…may have sampled the dried apple. It was delicious! Just pure apple so why not? ).

Jake also loves kale and spinach but I had a few people on here (thankfully!) tell me to be more cautious with those greens. Now he usually gets 3-5 big leaves of romaine in the evening and a bit of dandelion as well. He also goes NUTS for basil but I usually only give that to him if I’m going to make pesto (which I do surprisingly often…mmm…pasta).
