My bunny, Sebastian has stress induced GI Stasis, and we have him on Oxbow Critical Care, Benebac probiotic and Metoclopramide.

The problem is that we can’t get him to take it. My dad restrains him as I shoot it in from the side, but her squirms really violently and gets loose. He NEEDS to take these meds too. Any help?

You can try wrapping him in a towl or blanket first. Mine fought it at first but he got used to it after a couple tries. I sit mine upwards in my lap, slowly moving them into the same position you would hold a baby in. Then i hold their front paws and pin their back feet to my chest so they can’t kick. They’re normally really calm in that position, but maybe its just because they’re sucks. Best of luck!

I’m having the same problem giving meds to my bun (I’m currently treating him for suspected EC :’-( ) my vet showed me how to wrap him up like a burrito in a towel! Wrap the towel securely under his neck and up around his ears, and then around his body securing his bum, and as Jazlyn said slowly move him into the position you’d hold a baby in – it’s a 2 man job for me – one holding and one syringing meds/food – I’m still struggling but getting more of the meds in than any other method I’ve tried, good luck!
