  Assuming this is just a North American thing but our local groundhog, Shubenacadie Sam, is the first groundhog in North America to do the prediction and he predicted an early Spring.

  He’s really is a darling! We don’t have groundhogs. They have them in the Alps. Perhaps not exactly the same, but marmots, anyway.

  Our groundhog is Buckeye Chuck. He says six more weeks of winter. Boo. It figures, it’s been overcast for 2 months but as soon as it’s groundhog day, it’s bright and shiny so he has a shadow.

  That sounds suspicious, LBJ. I think there could be some information manipulation if the groundhog is stuffed.

  Normally I would be happy for an early spring as the little bugger usually sees his shadow but it feels like we really haven’t had winter yet. Not much snow. It actually snowed a bit this morning. Big Winter Carnival this weekend but not sure there will be enough snow for any of the activities.
