        Hey guys.

I took a new bun home a week ago and as soon as I got him home I noticed he would have little sneeze attacks. I googled it and it said it might very well be Pasturella causing a URI. I called the breeder and told him what was going on and he  said to bring him back and hed take care of it.

The bun was seen by a vet and diagnosed with a URI and given antibiotics (sulfamethoxazole-tmp suspension) and the vet administered the meds for the last 6-7 days. I took him home yesterday with the remaining doses  to give him.

The breeder said that when he was with him he never really heard him sneeeze. But as soon as I had him back home sneezing started again. Could it be allergies? I use aspen chips, Oxbow Timothy Hay and Oxbow Pellets for all my buns. Maybe a reaction to one of those? I also have two cats. Is it a thing for a rabbit to be allergic to cats?

Thanks in advance for any help!

My bun had the same problem a few months ago. He didn’t have the URI but he had sneeze attacks. I think it may be the aspen shavings… when we switched to paper based litter the sneezing stopped. I don’t about the cats because we don’t have any other pets. The brand of litter we switched to was called Fresh News
