Hi there. Just today I went to Kmart and saw this woven cat bed or cat cave. I knew rabbits loved woven mats and wicker baskets and I thought my rabbits would love it so I brought it. Only when I got home did I think to check what material the woven basket was made of. Online it says it is made of rush material, however I can’t seem to find anything online about whether or not rush material is safe for rabbits to chew on. My initial thought was that if its made for cats, then it would also have to be safe for rabbits too. However, I am still uncertain and just wanted to check. So does anyone know whether it’s all good to give to my rabbits. I have attached a link of the item from it’s website if you wish to have a look. Thanks in advance.

Hello I’m fairly sure this bed is made of water hyacinth (from memory when I looked into it). Water hyacinth is a safe rush material for chewing. If I had the money I would definitely have bought this bed too. I would personally hose it off first in case it’s been treated and dry it outside in the sun on a hot day, but I’ve seen plenty of people give it to their buns without doing so first
