I’ve been experimenting with various things to bond with Finn and provide adequate enrichment. We’ve done paper bags stuffed with hay and forage, which is a big hit with the piggies…not so much for bun. I’ve also tried paper towel rolls stuffed with hay. He’ll toss them around for a few second and then look at me like I’m out of my mind. Today I took strips of cut up fleece and tossed them in a woven grass bed, then buried some of the Oxbow timothy treats within the strips. I sat just outside Finn’s pen and talked to him while he was “playing.”

Apparently my offering was accepted. When he found all the nuggets he hopped up in my lap and gave me nose bonks and let me love on him.

Followed by a vigorous “stuff my face with hay and meadow grass” session

And then a massive bun nap session, in which he is still engaged in and has been for the last half hour

What are some of your favorite ways to bond with your bun bun?

I like playing with their stacking cups with them – I fill the cups with treats, stack them and sit on the floor with them while they knock it down and munch away!

I often just sit on the floor and pet them when they approach me and give them lots of fussing. Until they get fed up :p Sometimes I’ll let them jump on/in the hay bag when I’m refilling their trays and I just talk to them and pet them whilst they’re having a good nibble.

          Food is key lol.
