        Hello all,

Another newbie here to pester you with bonding questions. I adopted two bunnies, male and female, both are fixed and around 1 year in age. I had the female first and took her to bunny date at the shelter and we adopted the bunny that was friendliest and she seemed least bothered by. I am on day three of trying to bond them and the male already seems happy to be with her. He is still humping but he’s grooming her, eating in the neutral area, flopping etc. She on the other hand just seems scared. Mostly she sits there and does nothing though will run away occassionally if she’s too bothered and has humped him back a handful of times. No fights so far and really no aggressive behavior other than a few leave me alone thumps. I’m just wondering if I should be concerned by her inactivity or is this just a normal part of the process? And as I am writing this she just ate something so I guess I’m worrying over nothing. Still will post to be sure. Thanks in advance for your help!

Keep working on bonding. If she is scared, it means her true personality hasnt come out yet. You dont know if they will actually get along or not. Youll have to take it at her speed, since shes the one moving the slowest (which is fine). Dont move forward until they both seem calm and happy, and your female has come out of her shell around the new bun

Ok great thank you. I know it can take awhile was just concerned she was so still and doing nothing. I think her eating today was a good sign. During the day they are in seprate areas divided by a baby gate and I have their food at the gate so they can eat together. They do really good there and play with each other but she just freezes up when put in the neutral area for a boding session.
