The name gives it away I guess ^_^ (it went wrong a bit with the registration, I wanted the shorter name “Ellie” but chose the wrong textbox)

I live in the east of The Netherlands, in a city on the border with Germany. Pretty high and dry up here, not many polders and canals. One of the few places with dry feet if the dikes break.
I’m in a long-term relationship with my sweetheart Bas, for 2,5 years now. We’re not living together yet, but will be doing that within the year hopefully. We live close together, only a 15 minute bike ride. Breintje was his bun, but after our second date he allowed Breintje to live with me. Bas said I needed the companionship more, as I’m home all day because of my disability. So I did not only get a BF, but also a bun

I live in the lovely Emerald Isle (Ireland, Northern Ireland to be more exact!)

My name’s Lisa, I recently married by boyfriend/fiance of almost 8 years and we live together with our gorgeous cheeky almost 2 yo bunny Theodore who we’ve had for 1 year. We live just on the outskirts of Belfast, the capital city of N.I.

I live in the harsh prairie of central Saskatchewan, Canada. My critters include my rabbit (Ellie), 3 hamsters (Sugar, Cinnamon and Nova), and two dogs (Maggie–mine and Kingston–my sister’s dog). The dogs get along great with Ellie!

I’m way on the Eastern coast of Canada in New Brunswick. We swelter in the summer and freeze in the winter!!!

I have 2 bunnies, Sterling and Bindi Loo, and a kitty, Kyle. I recently lost my horse but I still spend lots of time out in the country playing with horsies.

How sweet! One of the main reasons we got our two bunnies is because I’m home all day due to ill health.

I live in Northamptonshire in the UK, with my partner of almost 6 years (been living together for almost 3) and of course our two trouble makers: Peanut and Buttercup.

I’m in IL, in the Western part. Cornfields everywhere. I live in a rural area, plus I go to school where I live. Um, one good thing about living in a rural area is, there is quite a few rabbit savvy, vets which is shocking. Maybe because of farming livestock and 4H and FFA being so profound in this area. Who know. But it’s nice knowing people from other parts of the world. I live with my bunners Zeke.

It’s hot here in summer (desert, obviously), but I’m on the seaside, so it’s pretty humid.

I live in Michigan, U.S., so there is hot and humid (ugh) summers and freezing and icy winters (lots of wet lake-effect snow, love it here). My Bunny is names Reese and she is 2 years old, turning 3 on July 3rd 2017. I watched my aunt’s rabbit last summer named Buttercup, Buttsie for short, and after he is fixed he might live with me and bond with Reese. They got along pretty well when they were outside!

I live in upstate NY. Originally from the Finger Lakes, but left shortly after I graduated for a 10 year stint in the Air Force. That took me to California and then to Germany. When I left active duty, I got in with a reserve unit out of Niagara Falls so we settled back about an hour and half from the base.

I live in the flat cornfields of central Ohio. Pretty blah here. The weather is bipolar, where you need the heater in the morning and the aircon in the afternoon.

My husband and I discovered a love, if not addiction, to buns almost 6 years ago with our first bunny Bruno. We now have 9 buns (including Bru). However at one point we had 13. We also have 3 cats.

I am also from Michigan. We have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 bun. I ended up with her by circumstance I guess you could say. Although I am very happy I did. We also have 1 girl in college and 1 boy that is a senior in high school. I live in the country but it’s slowly building up. Where I live use to be all corn fields and now it’s starting to look like a sub division. They are actually building a dollar general at the end of my road, it seems so crazy. I usually drive 30 minutes or more to the grocery store. We do have one in town but it’s for last minute things only because it’s really expensive and a lot of times stuff is expired. The other day I was out cleaning up dog poo out of the yard and as my hands were going numb I thought to myself I wish I knew what nice pets bunnies were a long time ago!! I don’t know why I never thought of them having so much personality and so many cute quirks! I’m glad I found out and came across this site with so much information. Anyway sorry for rambling. Nice to meet everyone, oh and I love how there are so many different countries all in one place!

Hi.. I’m in Florida on the west coast. I only my Bella. I’ve had her for about a month now. I bought her for my daughter but she stole my heart and now she’s mine. Good thing, though. Bunnies are not for kids. I didn’t really know that when I bought her.

Indeed, bunnies are really different from the idea the general public has of them. They don’t like to be picked up and cuddled, and they dislike a high activity household. Not a great match for children under the age of 12.

We travel by train a lot, and Breintje feels most secure when he’s held tightly in my arms. He jumps into them immediately. This draws a lot of interested people and I have plenty of time to explain some things about bunnies:

                                                  – he only does this on the train or at the vet. At home he hates being held.
                                                  – buns are very sensitive to stress and emotions. They may appear calm but this behaviour can change quickly.
                                                  – they can be quite fierce when you do something against their will: you will be bitten and/or scratched if you do something your bun doesn’t like.

This all combined makes bunnies not ideal for kids. They like to hold an animal and play with it. Bunnies can get frustrated quickly and biting ensues. This is the reason why so many rabbits are dumped.

Glad that you are taking care of the rabbit now, she’ll make a really great companion for an adult. If you have the time, let her out of her cage as much as possible. If you allow the rabbit to seek you out, you’ll find that she’ll tune in to your emotions and she’ll really connect with you. It is vital that she is spayed however, because unspayed rabbits can develop territorial agression.
