My bf and I have two cats and Lily the bun.  Right now, we’re looking into different kitty litters that are rabbit safe, since they tend to track it through the house.  Also, we live in a pretty small apartment, so odor control would be fantastic.  We’re considering getting Breeze litterboxes.  Any recommendations?

Feline Pine is one litter that is intended for cats but is safe for rabbits. Yesterday’s News is another one. Any of the pelleted pine or pelleted aspen litters are fine. Paper based, either pelleted or like Carefresh are also fine, they may not offer as good of odor control, though. There are also wheat straw based pellets, such as Oxbow Eco Straw. The most economical are the wood stove pellets (plain, no accellerants) or the horse stall pellets.

Do not use any clay litters or clumping litters. Also do not use corn cob litter or Sweat Scoop Litter.

I have been using cat spot litter. It’s safe for cats and bunnies. It is made of coconut husk I believe. For me it has been awsome. There is no smell at all and very little tracking. I tried the fresh news and horse stall pellets or wood stove pellets and just was not satisfied. That has just been my experience with litters. If you give it a shot I hope it works just as good for you!
