Nox was losing balance when shaking her head and when she tried to hop fast. She also had a slight head tilt but it isnt there all the time and isnt super noticable.
She was taken for the vet and checked for ear infections (middle and inner) as well as x-rays for trauma. They all came back clear and decided to treat for E. cuniculi. Her vet specialises in exotics.

She has started the medication and is still a very happy bun, eating and drinking normally but is still a little unstable at times.

I am just wondering if anyone has advice on dealing with this and if they have had there bun go back to normal? and how long till i start to notice a difference in her condition?

EC is a pretty confusing condition. It can vary so much how it affects a rabbit and how they’ll recover.
It’s not uncommon for real improvement to occur after the 28 day course or panacur. At least, that’s what I’ve seen with EC related head-tilt. I’m not entirely certain with hind end paresis.

Is she also on an anti inflammatory med?

It good to hear she is coping well. . Sending out some {{{vibes}}} for your girl.

She is doing much better now after day 4 of panacur. No head tilt and is able to run laps again and have only seen her lose balance once. She is back to cuddling and giving bunny kisses. I’m hoping she stays this way!
She wasn’t put on an anti inflammatory? Her vet is an exotics vet and didn’t mention them at all.

Wow, that is quite quick in terms of recovery. That’s great!
Anti inflamms can help if symptoms due to brain or spinal lesions. Keep inflammation down and prevent secondary bacterial infections taking hold. It sounds as if she might not need them. : )

Sounds like she’s having a great recovery! Any update?

My Bindi came up suddenly with EC symptoms (head tilt, wobbliness and nystagmus). We caught it really early and after a week of panacur he was pretty much back to normal. I really think that’s the key. Catching it and treating it early.
