        Hello

So I have a bun who is now around 15/16weeks old, the last few days I’ve noticed around his mouth & nose area looks like its going white  (he’s dark grey/pet shop said ‘blue’) but when I pick him up to look he’s not lost any fur, but that area in general looks different, even shape slightly and yesterday & all last night he just wouldn’t stop sneezing. The vet I previously used for my pervious rabbits has gone, and I honestly can’t find a very experienced rabbit vet in my area. One was so bad when I called I asked about shots, and he said they don’t usually need them but can have same ones as cats if I wish!! Just shocking! So I thought I’d ask you guys, as I wanna research & ensure he gets a good vet who knows what he’s doing. Don’t think it’s too urgent as he’s still eating, drinking and playing as usual ect.

Any help would be very useful. Thanks.

Young rabbits can change colour (and type of fur) considerably during their first year. Is the white around the mouth and nose the fur itself or does it seem like some type of white snot?

Sneezing can come from dusty hay or the type of litter you use in his litter box. Is there any discharge from his eyes? Any wetness or matted fur on his cheeks?

Is it just the colour changing or is it dischargey/mucousy? If it’s just a change of fur colouring, I wouldn’t worry.

As Bam said, young buns fur can change colour – in fact my Peanut, when we first got him he was pure black then he developed a little brown triangular patch on his head with a few white tufts and now he’s developing brown fur at his shoulders. He’s a healthy little boy!

I think just the fur, I just worry a lot! My previous buns were 3yrs when I adopted them so never really watched them change as they grew, he’s eyes seem absolutely fine, haven’t noticed any discharge from anywhere x

Blues/greys tend to be a more unstable color and change a lot in lots of animals. My bun is an agouti colored angora and when I brought her home her grey was a very dark blue grey, it lightened to a mid tone grey, and her newest growth at almost 5 months old is bright silver
