My bunny has started digging in the corners on his NIC cage. I would like to create a dig box for him so he has something to dig in but I am not sure what to put inside of the box. Is newspaper safe? shredded fleece? Any other suggestions?

You could use hay or straw or rolled up paper balls!

I considered using hay but I always keep hay in his litter box and he never trys to dig there :-\. I also have a big straw mat that he doesn’t like to dig at either! Hes a picky little bun. By rolled up paper balls do you mean like regular white computer paper?

Cut up toilet paper rolls might be nice to dig through too, i would think. Plus theyre safe to eat if nibbled on and if he decides to pee on them its no money out of pocket

Yeah, or old newspaper so long as the ink isn’t toxic

I have plenty of toilet and paper towel rolls!

How would I know if the ink on the newspaper is toxic??
