        hi,

so im not really one that like to join the forums more just stalk them but i have a really big issue i believe my rabbit my be going into GI stasis there are no emergency exotic vets in the area (it is 8:00 at night the only exotic vet near me is closed) and i wont be able to get to the vet until 3 (i have finals tomorrow and my dads boss is in town and he has a huge meeting) i may be able to get some one else to take her though. my last rabbit died of GI stasis (we had a pet sitter and they went into stasis with them and they didnt know the signs) and i just cant let this happen again if it defiantly is stasis what should i do ive only had her 1.5 weeks so i dont really know whats “normal” she had a poop stuck to her flank and her poops were coming out feeling like dog poop and when i touched her stomach she didt really move and it felt a little squishy and she keeps sitting/laying down but i cant tell if it is normal for her because i really havent started being around her until like this weekend (i gave her a week to ajust) so i cant really tell if ts her normal way of sitting but she is eating and she did a binky like an hour ago (right after i started worrying) shes 2 months old and on oxbow baby food and alfalfa her previous owners could not tell me her pellet brand or the hay they fed her so i had nothing to go off of but i started feeding her when i got her (i mean obviously) what i had but that was a week ago (oh also i dont know if this really means anything but she pulled all the fleece out of place which she did not do before) so here are some pictures of how shes acting

thank you all so much im sorry i put this on here but i cannot contact the vet (we even tried calling) and had no where else to turn im sorry i know someone i could ask to take her i the morning (i think) i just wouldn’t be able to be there thanks so much again and also im sorry again

this is her last week (if it helps)

          Hi Katie
Sorry you have a poorly bunny. So she is eating some and moving around, but has soft poo? Is that correct?

          What age is she?

Unfortunately the images are not showing up. I’ll may be able to fix that shortly if I log onto the PC.

Regarding vets, I think going to any out of hours vet would be wise if you have a sick rabbit. They should have basic knowledge to treat common conditions or be able to refer to text books or professional forums for advice how to treat.

Are you able to upload the photos as attachments? There is an attachment bar you expand when you are in the post editor. You’ll need to go to “add reply” (not the Quick Reply box) to see the full editor, or “Edit” in your first post.

I can’t see the pics either, and I’m on a laptop. You could try and upload them to an external source like imgur, flickr, photobucket or Google Drive and then link to them in your post.

The main danger for a very young bunny is true diarrhea. The bunny gets runny, watery and/or mucous-y poop. There is no formed poop. The bunny gets very weak. This is a veterinary emergency, the bunny must immediately get vet care with extra fluids and something to stop the runny poop, and something that cures the origin of the problem (antibiotics and/or a dewormer).
