Im interested if theres anyone else on a budget but still provide the best for their bunnys? I spend probably a good chunk on my pay check on this oxbow food and toys. Im fine on treats because I dont provide those a whole ton. What works best for you, your bunny, and your wallet? Ill be happy to hear any feedback!

I buy oxbow pellets and hay as well, along with care fresh bedding. I seem to spend the most on hay and bedding. The salad greens don’t really add up much only a few dollars a week it seems and I feed two salads a day. Since bunnies eat so much hay…and poop a lot, I think the hay and bedding are the most demand for bunny ownership. The pellets in a bag go a long way for me and you want to feed a good brand of food. Toys you can always find cardboard rolls at home they love to chew. Are there online sources to look into, to maybe buy food and bedding in bulk or at a cheaper price than at the pet store?

For toys, you can’t go wrong with toilet/towel paper rolls . You can cut them up into a ball for them or stuff them with treats or hay or even other toys (like bells) and the buns will get a lot of use out of it.

Do you buy the supplies mostly online?

I’ve found with Amelia there is no need to buy toys, she loves crinkly plastic shopping bags, padded shipping envelopes, the cardboard sleeve for hot coffee cups, plastic envelopes and page protectors with paper in them. For her she loves toys that crinkle, I run a sewing business out of my home and she loves days I get shipments. She sees it as lots of new toys to steal and play with

What the others said above with toys. I also buy hay from a near by feed store or farm store. Make sure the hay is horse/rabbit quality though. You can also try rabbit rescues for hay, usually more expensive that a feed store, but much cheaper than going to a pet store. If neither of these are options, try order online in bulk (40-60 pounds).
