Hi all, sorry for the very many topics lately!

Tomorrow 01/07/17 I will be taking Lilo to a rabbit rescue to go on bunny dates. Assuming he doesn’t run off every other rabbit, I plan on taking home a new bunny that day! New bun will be housed separately in the kitchen. I know I am supposed to let new bun get used to the new surrounding and feel safe before introduction. Lilo is very territorial over me. Ideally, I want the first few bonding sessions to be facilitated by my boyfriend. Unfortunately, he is moving out of state on 01/17/17. Is it ok to start bonding on 01/13/17? Between taking new bun home and introduction. The only access they’ll have with each other through a double fence during play time.

Did you get your new bunny yet? Two weeks sounds like an ideal time for a new bunny to settle in. Also from first hand experience and been advised by many others. Make sure they cannot reach each other through the double fence. It is amazing what their little noses and paws and get through.

Yes! Bunny date went very well. Lilo is very dominant and he even groomed her a little bit. I’m keeping them separate for now. She’s in a pen in my kitchen which is blocked off from Lilo. Vet appointment in a few days to make sure she is ok and healthy so I can start bonding. I will probably start bonding them after the boyfriend leaves.

How exciting and the grooming each other sounds like a good sign. Good luck with your bonding and let the adventures begin!
