I recently discovered dried willow wreath with foliage. Lilo goes CRAZY for the dried leaves. I’m giving him approximately 10 dried leaves everyday. Can he be fed this amount everyday? I want to give him a treat everyday but it’s hard to find healthy ones like dried leaves and such. I also don’t live in an area where I feel comfortable just picking leaves off apple trees to feed him.

10 a day should be fine. I give my pair both fresh and dried willow. When they get it, they’ll usually get a decent sized piece (or a wreath with leaves), once or twice a month and it’s usually gone in less than a day. But there’s definitely more than 10 leaves on the pieces I give them

My buns go nuts for willow too. I can’t give them the whole wreath because they will devour the whole thing I suspect. I probably give them 10 leaves or so every other day when I have willow in my bunny treat stash.

Thank you for the responses! I’m about to run out of willow though lol, now searching for more things to feed him. Do you guys know if all kinds of willow are safe for rabbits? Or should I just stick to the same source (I get them from a rabbit rescue near me, but it’s a good 40 min away).

No idea about that. I just give the ones from the BB store.

From what I’ve read, all types of willow (salix) is safe. There are many.many types. I have one tree the leaves of which my bun won’t eat though. From what I read, some types of willow have too bitter taste for a bunny’s liking. My bun prefers weeping willow. I have dried sallow leaves from last summer that he gets some of every day.
