I can’t convince my mom to buy me cord protectors, but I really need them.

She wasn’t chewing on anything until recently. My dad took a computer to the shop, and he found bite marks. My parents said it can only be out if I am there. That is fine, but I do think that getting new cord protectors is needed. Our old ones didn’t work well, and we never got to getting new ones, since she never chewed on them. I realized that she started chewing because she didn’t have anymore chew toys, but I don’t find it enough. My mom says I can just stop her from chewing if she gets near, but I told my mom that it will be too distracting for me doing my work. She even thinks the rabbit doesn’t need anymore toys, but I think she is just being way too cheap now.

        Any advice?

So she won’t let you buy cord protectors OR more chew toys to occupy your bun? What is she expecting your bunny to do?

I suppose you could try again to convince her of the importance of getting cord protectors – even if you watch the bun like a hawk (hate that phrase!) it only takes a couple of seconds to chew and it could seriously hurt your rabbit. Is she aware of what could happen to bun if it chews wires? If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what else to suggest

As for more chew toys, well if bun doesn’t have enough things to entertain her then she will be a very bored bun. You could always diy some toys to occupy, there’s some ideas in the habitat and toys section so check that out! If you have cardboard, you have A LOT of options of things to make.

Yeah try going outside to find some chewable trees (lists of safe ones are easily found on the internet) or of course there are cardboard boxes and loo rolls.

IKEA has cord protectors that aren’t expensive. They are called RABALDER. You can get them from Amazon if you don’t have an IKEA near you.

When a bunny decides to chew a cord, it can happen really fast, like Sarah says.

Chewable twigs like apple and willow is still a great idea. It’s good for the bunny’s teeth and it provides a nice and enriching diversion.
