Since our bun isn’t potty trained yet.. what are the opinions here about bun diapers ?

Ok for very short times like when we have her run in the living room or on the sofa…and when she lifts her tail to potty… that’s when a diaper would be handy…

Other times she wouldn’t be wearing it, as it’s impossible to tell when she needs to “chew her cud”, aka ingest cecal pellets.

        thanks in advance.

Good luck keeping them on, lol. I personally wouldn’t do it, I think you’re better off just working on the toilet training and I suspect that diapers may actually hinder the training rather than help you, even if it saves a mess or two on the couch.

I can only imagine how difficult it would be to get a diaper on a bunny lol. I think you’d be better off just keeping with her litter training and perhaps put washable sheets down?

It would probly do more hurt than help by keeping the poop and pee pressed against her fur/skin

Think we’ll go with a waterproof throw rug on the sofa –the kind that are thicker fabric on one side and waterproof lining underneath.

It’s kind of nice to let her run around and even step on us while chilling out at night in the tv/living room.

My husband has rabbit proofed most of the room to prevent her from chewing on electrical cords, but so far she’s not allowed to roam without someone watching her. She likes to squeeze herself into tight spaces and stretch out & relax a bit– just need to be sure she can’t injure herself.
She wants to eat what we eat– but food for humans is rarely safe for buns. ( Tried to steal some popcorn on NewYear’s Eve.. grabbed the bowl from me and flung it all over. What a character ! )

Thanks everyone for the advice !

I agree – I don’t think it would help at all. Work on potty training. Charlie was peeing all over my bed whenever I would bring him on it, so I just stopped bringing him on it until he was trained. Now he goes to his box when he needs to go, and if he’s hanging out with me on my bed I bring his clean box with me and he’s been great about using that.
If you haven’t already, try putting hay in the litter box as well – that’s how I ultimately had the most success with training Charlie
