Hey everyone wish I could figure out a way to post photos but anyways Ralph Jr is about 5 months old unneautered and he has an unneautered brother and sister for they are all too young to be fixed but they have figured out how to fight and are sassy and Ralph Jr is missing a good chunk of fur on his back with some scratch marks just looks super meaty and like all his skin in that area is just super bare kinda hard to explain online but I’m just wondering if anyone has had experience with this? Do you think it’s from the boys fighting? Or an internal issue? He’s eating and sleeping and acting completely normal just missing that huge chunk on his back… I have a vet appointment tomorrow but just wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue and if they had any insight.

It sounds like they’ve been fighting. Sometimes buns she’d in big chunks, but the scratch-marks indicate fighting.

Your buns need to be separated right away. At 5 months boys are sexually mature and most girls too. There will be babies and lots more nasty faighting f you don’t separate now.

The “meaty” wounds need to be kept clean. You can wash with saline eye wash for humans or iodine for wound care (iodine stains though). You can use an antiseptic ointment on the scratches or plain neosporin cream (the type without a painkiller).

But first of all, separate. At 5 months boys are ready to be neutered. They fight because they are sexually mature.

Well if they’ve figured out how to fight it’s probably safe to assume that the loss of fur is the result of that. Especially if everything else is ‘normal’

Have you not separated them? Btw if they are all 5 months, they are old enough to be neutered and spayed
