Hi there long time no talk! Couple questions with lux. So she ended up eating a lot of fake Christmas tree and just wanted to know if she is ok. First of all no hard tummy it’s very squishy. Poops look normal. Still eating her hay pellets and kale, mint, spinach, arrogala, cilantro and curly parsley. She stills runs and
Binkys a lot and gets about 90-120 minutes a day of exercise just cause we work a lot. Main reason I ask is cause I went to pet her and she was laying all spread out in her cage on a way I have never seen her do and when I opened the cage she didn’t get up and go under her bridge like she usually does instead she got up all ultra fast like what the hell you doing. Her head was down and feet laying on side. Kind of freaked me out. I love my bun and don’t want anything to happen to her. She’s still eating treats like a boss though

My bunny jumps up sometimes and freaks me out, its normal we make them jump if they are in a deep sleep with their eyes open, this fake Christmas tree has got me thinking, was it plastic? Some plastics have chemicals in them.
I’m going to say my magic words here and hope this lady can help you more.
          Bam are you online?

Ok makes me feel better that she was sleeping. But the plastic she seems fine. She was eating it since November little piece here and there. She seems totally normal.

She’ll be fine, maybe you made her jump, my Olly goes into a very deep sleep, his eyes wide open and then suddenly moves and looks at me as if to say. ‘What you doing here?’

I mean she’s just sitting in spots weirdly. She’s eating her veggies and grooming herself still. Would I know if she had a broken back or leg or rib? She was running around a lot earlier my wife said. She also had huge clumps of hair pulled out from her butt. Is that just shedding? I brought her in our bathroom and she ran around and peed on the mat (bad bun) I just hope she’s ok.

Just kind of worried with her sitting in spots of her cage she normally doesn’t

Hi Xxventanaxx! Good to hear from you and Lux!!!

It doesn’t sound like she is sick, but I’m glad you notice even small irregularities in her behavior! Rabbits can absolutely lie all flopped out on one side and then just jump up in a split second – the first time my Yohio did that I nearly had a heart attack.

The good thing about rabbits when they eat non-food is that they tend to chew it very well. Dogs can swallow the most inappropriate non-food items whole and have to have surgery to get them out, but buns really chew. So most non-food passes through. It’s obviously not good if they eat too much non-food – but since she has a good appetite and readily take treats, it sounds like she is fine.
