As some of you know Olly has sneezing fits, the vets can’t find anything wrong with him and said it is allergies, well he has just had another good sneeze but it was longer than usual, I got in his pen and got on my knees and stroked him and told him it was alright, he sat up and sneezed and cleaned his nose, then he laid down and I thought he had finished, he was sneezing so hard and I thought he was going to bang his chin and nose on his dog bed, then it all stopped, he looked a bit strange like he was in a trance as I cleaned the yuck up off his face and bed, I stroked him and said he was a good boy, then he just dropped like a 10 ton weight into his favorite position, I was stroking him and he still wasn’t right, I kissed his nose and he wasn’t moving, I thought he was dying, I checked to see if he was breathing because I can’t see very well I had my hand on the side of his tummy, he was breathing and I stroked him, he was in this sort of trance thing, I stroked him and told him everything was OK, then suddenly he moved back quickly and was back to normal (Grumpy) self, I hope he hasn’t got anything wrong with him,

That does sound quite odd. I have no idea what could have caused this, but I urge you to get another vet opinion, as this doesn’t sound like “just allergies.” Hopefully they can find the source of this odd behavior.

I’m going to move this to House Rabbit Q and A so it doesn’t get buried in the Lounge.

What tests has the vet run for him? Him collapsing like that, even if it was in his favorite spot, could be a sign of stress or having a hard time breathing. If it was him having a hard time breathing, it could be because he was sneezing so hard. Poor little Olly

He has had his chest listened too, I was told it was clear, I just don’t like to see him sneezing so hard because I worry that he could bump his face or head, I wonder if he had Snuffles when he was a baby because I read that it doesn’t really clear up, I always get out of bed when I hear him at night, I’ll fix the hoover and give this room a good clean later, see if that helps, he does sneeze when the hoover is on and I’m cleaning up, or sometimes if I bring things back from the charity shop, sometimes I do because I bring back old wool blankets and wash them several times before use in baby washing powder.

Oh stupid me, I just remembered, we were out of baby washing powder and I used the cheap washing scented powder for his blankets, I said to Olly. “All clean now darling, Mummy will dry them and let you have them.” Silly Mummy, I feel stupid now.

Maybe it was the cheap powder irritating his nose then If it happens too often, i would take him to the vet and ask for a swab test done. They will be able to tell you if there is an infection or not
