I’ve seen a few really cool looking cat scratching posts that might be a fun plaything for my bunbuns – It’s got the posts to scratch at (obviously) which I think would satisfy Peanut plus a couple different levels that they could perch on. Just wondering if anyone else has tried cat scratching posts for rabbits?

Luna used to try to rip up the carpet flooring when she was younger so the carpet-covered scratching posts are not an option. It’s too bad though because I think she would like the different levels to perch on. I hope Peanut enjoys it!

I had a plastic one for my rabbits. Only problem was they started eating the sisal twine that makes up the actual scratchy stuff. I wasn’t sure if the twine was treated, so I bought brand new untreated sisal twine to replace it. If you can find a plastic one, they’ll most likely play with it.

I ended up finding a better one – this one to be exact:

              https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LVXWUVC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I love the hidey house at the bottom! I think the different levels will be great look out points too. My little buns don’t really bite/dig at carpet material so hopefully they’ll be okay with this. It’s quite cheap though so it’s not a huge loss if it doesn’t work out.

I’ll have to find out if the sisal rope is treated or not but I doubt they’d bite at it anyway, they’ll (well Peanut will) just scratch at it instead.

I hope my little terrors enjoy it! It’s a belated Christmas present. I’m using Christmas vouchers to pay for it lol. Unfortunately it could take a month to arrive but I want to wait til I’ve bonded them anyway (two more weeks to wait!) before I give it to them so they can share it.

Do you have any pictures of them?

Wow that cat tree/scratcher looks very similar to the one I bought. In fact it might be the same one just a different colour! Glad to see Podge enjoying it

Will do! I’m so excited and it hasn’t even dispatched yet lol. Their cardboard castle was a big hit so fingers crossed this will be too!
