As you guys probably know, Peanut and Buttercup are currently separated until a month has passed after Peanut’s neutering. They both share the living room area but there is a partition splitting it in two. It’s also doubled up to prevent them touching one another. Anyway, I woke up this morning to see Buttercup casually hop out of Peanut’s hutch

They actually pushed the panels that were nearest to the wall to create a doorway and were happily chilling in one another’s company.  We decidedto let them spend 5 minutes together and then we’d separate them again…

Buttercup was in and out of Peanut’s hutch, rolling about in his litter tray, nibbling his hay etc. They had their faces right up to each other’s and there was no nipping. Peanut did try to hump Buttercup. Multiple times – She would stay still for a couple seconds and then run off, he would run after her to hump her again so I pushed him off a few times. No aggression on either bunny’s part.

I’ve no idea how long they’d been together before we woke up this morning – I checked them both for injuries btw and both are fine, there was also no evidence of fur pulling. No territorial poops or wee patches either

Thought I’d share with you my interesting morning  They are separated now but in the opposite one’s area. We were planning on switching them over today anyway to prevent them getting territorial over their living space. It probably seems pointless now though lol but we switched them anyway and they are perfectly happy.

Unfortunately because they’ve discovered they can pull on the panels, that’s one of their favourite activities now! Thankfully we’ve bunny proofed it further now, didn’t wake up this morning to them playing together so it worked lol.

I was gobsmacked. It’s a good thing Peanut isn’t territorial – Buttercup was doing what she pleased in his hutch lol. This makes me very excited for finally bonding them. A couple of weeks left!

I’m very thankful! It could have been awful.
