        Hello, everyone!

So Jake, my 8month old mini lop, got neutered today. The poor baby was very brave and behaved very well for the staff. He has been eating well (not as well as usual but still at least sampling his hay, dried leaves, pellets, and veg). I also made him some “popsicles” out of hay, banana, carrot, crushed pellet, and a sprinkle of oats blended together and frozen in an ice cube tray.

Well, curiosity and worry got the best of me despite Jake’s positive behavior and I checked out his bottom. It looks red Should I be worried? It has only been less than a day. But I’m still worried.

        Thank you in advance!

It will look angry the first day. The swelling should begin to subside though and it might still look pink around the incisions for awhile. Infection would be pain, swelling, and redness (usually along the incision itself) that appears after the wounds have begun to heal. So, for right now, I wouldn’t be too worried. Just monitor the situation. If it starts looking better as the days progress, then you should be in the clear.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for easing my worries. <3 It's a lot less red now and Jake is active as ever. Happy Holidays
