        Hi people!

So I recently stopped feeding my Netherlands dwarf bunny a certain brand of pellets because I found out it was bad for her.

SO, I’m wondering what are really good pellets for my Cara! Like, with a 0000.1% chance of them hurting her digestive system or causing any slow down..

She’s 3 and a half months old and she’s a netherlands dwarf breed!

I use Manna Pro 16%. It’s for all ages of bunnies and I’ve had no issues with it. Or maybe an Oxbow Timothy Hay pellet? The rabbit shelter that I live near uses those.

I’m working on transitioning Amelia to Sherwood, some people have had issues transitioning, since it’s very healthy with no sweeteners but my girl loves it

Yah i’d do the same, whatever’s healthier but I don’t really know that much about pellets.

You shouldn’t just stop her pellets altogether, you need to transition slowly from the current pellets to the healthier ones. I use Burgess Excel Nuggets with Mint for Junior Rabbits.

My rabbits are adults, so they get Oxbow Adult Essentials pellets, which are timothy based. Oxbow is a brand that is used by many rabbit rescues. They also have the alfalfa based Young Rabbit Essentials pellets.

The reason why I did this was because her waste was deformed, and really dark whenever she would eat them. When I stopped feeding her those pellets for a day, It went back to the gold circular healthy waste.

I am currently using Supreme Science Selective because Oxbow Essentials was causing deformed waste for Silas. I chose Supreme Science Selective because it doesn’t have any molasses or other sweeteners in it and Silas loves it. My first choice was Sherwood (also no sweeteners, nice and green and fresh smelling), but Silas really doesn’t like it. Other posters here have reported their bunnies like it, so it might be worth a try.

It is safe to stop a pellet suddenly if it’s causing problems. Then when you have it, you can introduce the new pellet slowly. The danger is in introducing a new food suddenly. You have some good recommendations already, of the brands available to you, I have use both Oxbow and Burgess Excel with good results.
