        Hey all,

I have a male and female rabbit from the same litter, they are about 5 and a half months old. They are a bonded pair.

I got them spayed and neutered 4 days ago.  I’ve had them separated for a few weeks now, and introduced them again today. The male keeps trying to hump the female, so I separated them again because it is stressing out the female.

Any idea how long it will be for the male to stop his shenanigans? I’m assuming a few weeks at the very minimum. I don’t want them together full-time again until the male calms down. I’ll put them together sparingly for now and watch them.

        Thank you!

Poor girl, it probly hurt her She needs atleast a month to heal correctly and should be kept away from your male while she heals

Keep them apart for atleast a month and a half before trying to rebond them. Males take one to two months to lose their hormones and females take up to six months to fully lose theirs

It can vary rabbit to rabbit. Some people will see a turn-around quite quickly, others it takes some weeks and even worsens for a short time post-neuter.
It might be a bit stress related also, with the vet visit and procedure.
