Lilo has a runny eye. It’s clear fluid (I attached a picture). I made him a vet appointment for Monday afternoon with his normal vet. The only vet I can see this weekend would be an emergency vet that I haven’t used before. Just wondering if this is an emergency where I need to take him to an emergency vet.

If he’s eating, drinking, pooping and peeing and acting normally, I’d say it can wait until Monday. To make him more comfortable you can rinse his eye with saline eye wash for humans.

If he’s refusing food he needs a vet sooner than Monday.

ETA: I know some here have had success with a warm compress on the eye. Chamomille tea is suitable for soaking the compress in. It could provide some relief.

Thank you for the advice. He’s eating normally and very active (usual activity). I’ll try the warm teabag trick.

              Good luck at the vet!
