Amelia was spayed on Monday, she has been eating pretty well, about 80% of the pellets she was before the spay, but about 1/2 again as much hay. She is also pee and pooing accordingly. She is on 0.3ml of metacam, and has about two days left.

She has just seemed more quiet then before the spay, now I’ll admit she was being a little bit of a terror the week before. She is very cuddly, she used to sit with me for 20-30 minutes top, today she sat on my lap or chest for well over an hour giving kisses and chittering. During the day she is in a 4ft round playpen, and she plays a bit with her toys and is doing the cutest tiny binkies, she digs her blankets in there and rests. She’s sleeping in standard bunny loaf form, or flopped out on her side. She’s not acting like she is uncomfortable or in any pain, she is just much quieter and cuddlier then I’m used to.

Do you think there is something wrong? Am I being a worry wort? Is this just pain meds and her recovering/healing?

Well as I was afraid my concerns were valid. Amelia didn’t poo at all last night

She has poo’d a little bit this evening. The input vs out put is not right yet. I think she has only gone once, she keeps going to her litter pan, but I haven’t checked Dah time either. She’s still happy, she’s eating her hay okay, and loves the critical care, she gets so excited when she see the syringe.

Bless her, it’s good to hear she’s pooped a little. I hope she gets back to pooping hundreds soon. Is she drinking okay?

She is drinking less but I’ve been giving her her critical care rather soupy to up her fluids. She’s still peeing like normal, she poo’d more over night, and some are certainly rather odd shaped and varied in size.

She was very fiesty and wanted her breakfast this morning. She was very happy to get her CC then cuddles

So it would seem that all she needed was a little bit of exercise. She was feeling a bit feisty this afternoon so I let her have a little bit a laundry time in the living room she played a little bit very gently then went to her litter box and left a great big pile so I think it’s safe to say she’s feeling better

I’m glad Amelia is doing better Jessica It’s great that you are so observant and were able to find a solution. Go Amelia!
