I know my bunnies love dried dandelion, they loved it from the very first taste. When I tried plantain they had a nibble, left it, then come back and devoured it. They love it just as much as dandelion if not more now. I’m currently trying coltsfoot, but they’re giving me mixed signals about it! Both Buttercup and Peanut nibbled some yesterday and then when I gave them a little more they left it, uninterested. Today, both had a sniff then left it, Buttercup has since returned and had a little nibble. As for birch leaf, they’ve both had a nibble and then lost interest in it. I’m guessing this means they are not particularly impressed with coltsfoot and birch leaf?! The same sort of thing happened when they tried dried chicory root – they were baffled by it at first, had a nibble and left it. Then came back and devoured it. They love it now!

I wish they’d just decide right from the get go if they like/dislike something  They devoured sunflower petals right away! I guess some items need further investigation before a decision can be made

Just about to post and Buttercup starts chomping on the birch leaf

Edited: Just tried to hand feed a birch leaf she left and she wasn’t interested and now she’s eating the coltsfoot  Buttercup, make up your mind!

Totally forgot to ask! Do your bunnies decide if they like something right away? Or do they need to investigate a little more like mine do?

Oh yes, rabbits can absolutely be picky. It can also take a while before they try a new food. Breintje took 2 years to realise that tangerine is tasty.

Bas’ previous rabbit, a female dwarf named Waffie, was also quite picky. She refused to drink water after Bas moved to uni, because she didn’t like the taste of the tap water here in the east of NL. Bas had to give her bottled spring water for several weeks. Talk about spoiled XD

Bunny logic is odd, and we just have to adjust to their whims…

Bunny logic is very weird! Both of mine now apparently love birch leaf!

Some buns like my Bill are just not adventurous with food. I was excited to have him try banana since my two previous buns love bananas from the first try, but Bill just sniffs it and acts offended at the smell. Then he just sat still and glared at me for a while lol. Bill also ignores carrots even if I’ve left them out for half a day. He’ll only eat leafy food like grasses and leafy vegetables. Now I just give him pellets and those colorful rabbit mixes as a treat as he goes crazy for those instead of the sweet stuff.
