        Hey guys!

So currently Sparks is in a 2×5 NIC pen with a 2×2 shelf. I’m adopting a second soon and wanted to know if my plan would be big enough for two.

I was thinking either making her cage 2×6 or 3x 5. Or possibly make it in to a condo since I live in a pretty small place and 2×5 is already taking up a lot of room. If I went condo, I’d make it a 4×2 with two full levels, and then the shelf on the bottom just 1×2 with a 2×2 shelf on the bottom.

Would all of those work? She is about 7 pounds and I’m looking at bunnies about her size as well. She’s only penned when I’m gone, which is normally only about 8 hours a day max.

2×5 is fine, but I wouldn’t go any smaller than that, and bigger is definetly best if at all possible. They do need lots of free roaming time, as it sounds like they have.
It is important to remember that levels do not count torwards the floor space count-the largest level is the size of the pen. So if you went the condo route, I would do atleast 2×5, though the plain 3×5 would be the best if you don’t mind your whole floor being taken up.

Even full size levels? I wouldn’t count her shelves in the floor space, but that’s odd to me another full sized level wouldn’t count. Thanks for the info! Guess I’ll be doing the 3×5 or 2×6 then

I have a pair in a 2×5. The second level is a full level minus 2 grid squares where they come up and down the steps. They love running up and down the steps, and my boy Apollo often does binkies on the lower level (which is 2 grids high, currently the top is only one grid high but when I get the time I’m adding another grid height to it). It’s plenty big for them both 2.5kg and 3kg bunnies, they get at least 6 hours every day with access to their playpen as well, even though most of the day from 10am – 4pm they just sleep upstairs in their condo anyway, lol. They love the upstairs the most, it’s where they love to snooze and lounge, and then they come downstairs to eat hay and use the litter box.

                Thanks, azerane!

I like the idea of making a full top level and having it be their sleeping area. Sparks loves to lounge on her shelf, and seems to like to be up higher in general, so I think I might just keep her cage 2×5 and make a full second level.

                Thanks!
