is this normal? Found on my Bunny’s bottom today slightly above genital area. My husband says it might be glands that need squeezed. It stinks horribly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oh wow. That doesn’t look good.
The scent glands are to the side of the genitals, not above.
Definitely take your bun to the vet to get checked out.

          It might be a cuterebra?

Hmm, I think jersey is right, it doesn’t look to be the right location for scent glands, but I am having a little trouble placing everything with all that fur

Certainly if it isn’t scent glands, you’ll need to see a vet.

It turned out to just be his glands. The vet expressed them and now he’s good. Thanks, guys!

That’s good to know I’ve never cleaned out my buns glands so I don’t often look directly in that area

Wowzers, it was quite full then and in such an odd position – maybe due to that?
On sight alone, I wouldn’t have picked that as the scent gland. If we were able to smell posts however, I would have been able to know straight away!

Maybe we can have that after the next site update.

Glad to read it was an easy thing to sort out. He must be feeling a lot more comfortable.

Thanks for the update! I’m glad it was just the scent glands!!
