        Hi everyone,
Today I found some residue on Joey’s blanket that he sleeps on. It looks a bit like bladder sludge, but seems more brown than tanish-grey and is much thinner (it absorbed into the blanket rather than solidifying and “caking” on top). He’s acting normal, eating, running around, drinking as usual. I will attach a picture soon because I’m really confused as to what this is. Any ideas?

It doesn’t really sound like bladder sludge. Bladder sludge cake. This sounds more like “poop-juice”. Sometimes more hay helps. Sometimes it’s a sensitivity to some particular green or even to some particular type of grass hay.

Since he recently had a bit of smeary poop, this could be the aftermath. It could still be the carrot that didn’t agree with him.

When my Bombur gets sludge its a deep red, almost brown, and a bit grainy. It happens to him depending on his diet, or if he doesnt drink as much as he should. Could possibly be what your bun is experiencing?

Sounds like the “poop juice” is right on. He’s been munching on his hay as usual, I guess I’ll just have to wait it out. As for the water intake, he seems to be drinking normally and the water bowl is clean, so I wouldn’t think it to be that.
              Thanks!
