Since her spay (2nd Dec) she hasn’t been as interested in her pellets, she’s became somewhat of a hay fiend the first few days, I mean honestly I’ve never seen her eat so much! That’s calmed down a little now. she just doesn’t seem as excited for her pellets. Usually I hand feed her a tablespoon of them, then feed Peanut a tablespoon then go back to Buttercup to give her a 2nd tablespoon. She usually dives right in like a hungry dinosaur but now she has the first tablespoon and then just loses interest. She’ll finish them eventually but is this something to be concerned about? She eats everything else as normal – she loves her hay,  devours her romaine and eats her bedtime treat.

I don’t think it’s cause for concern, since she is eating her hay. Hay is more important. She’s still not healed from the spay, that takes 2 weeks. I’d just let her eat what she likes, since she seems to like hay. Keep an eye on her weight though, you don’t want her to lose weight. If it seems like she’s losing weight, support-feeding with Critical Care (or Recovery plus since you are in the U.K.) could be a good idea.

Thanks Bam, I’m not too concerned with her losing weight as she is eating the pellets, just slower and with a lot less enthusiasm but of course if she stops completely I will be sure to keep an eye on her size. She weighed 1.24kg just before her spay. On the bright side, at her check up today the vet was very pleased with how she’s healing Oh and her poops are totally normal now, not an issue in sight!

Then there’s no reason to think anything is off =) She sounds like a strong girl.

Just thought I’d update to say Buttercup is back to devouring her pellets – She acts like she’s been starved for days!

Glad to hear it. Yes, bunnies tend to always act like they are starving. Mine do anyways.
