        Hello.

First post here.  We are looking at adopting a pair of Holland Lops.  But first I am going to repurpose an old computer hutch that is just storing DVD’s and junk.

How much space should be between the different levels?  I have a small built in one at the top but it is only 29 inches from the main level.  I would like to add a level between them but didn’t know if there is enough space.  The hutch is 20.5 inches deep.

        Thanks.

Hi and welcome to Binky Bunny! I have never kept any of my bunnies in multi level pens, so I don’t have any firsthand knowledge about spacing, but this link may be helpful: https://binkybunny.com/BUNNYINFO/GreatHabitats/tabid/229/Default.aspx

Hi there and great idea for recycling !! It dépends if buns will be in it a lot, or just as a shelter but one level should ideally allow them to stand up (stretch up).
If it is an open cage just for sleeping, then no worries.

My °2 bun is at the moment alot in an XL dog cage (awaiting bonding success) and I made him a shelf in it but it only goes across half the length of the cage, so he can go to the ground level and have the whole height of the cage (if you get my meaning) on the side where the shelf is not there.

If you have the ‘ground’ level as the highest level, you may need to add a step or something so they don’t have to jump down too far from the 1st level down.

I’ve just read all this back – not that clear if you’re not in my head! I hope you understand, if not let me know
