I have a hyacinth tunnel that my little Peanut likes to chew. He actually ingested some of it yesterday though. I stopped him when I realised what he was doing and he went and chewed on something else. He’s okay today, no damage done I’m just wondering if this actually is safe to eat or whether I should remove it permanently (I removed it yesterday) It says it’s made of 100% water hyacinth and rattan.

        Thoughts?

Here is the actual tunnel: http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/small-pet/rabbit/rabbit-toys/rosewood-hyacinth-rabbit–guinea-pig–chinchilla—ferret-tunnel-large

Yes, though as with most things, in moderation. If you found him having eaten a big chunk of it in one day, you may see some gut upset. However just nibbling and chewing on it as part of play is safe.

            Good to know, thank you!
