My little bunny boy is 14, not neutered, mostly has lived in an outdoor hutch but comes in at night when its cold (we’re in perfect weather Southern Californial). He loves to lay on his back when being cuddled and is litter box trained. He is also extremely active. He still quickly hops all around the room. Health wise, the vet says he’s doing great. He’s had a few eye and ear infections over the years but that’s about it. From what I can see, he is above average for longevity. Which is awesome, he’s so loved. Was wondering about other senior bunnies out there. Is this the norm?

          Hey there

You are correct in thinking that 14 is above average. House rabbits are stated to live about 10-12 years. So 14 and still lively is fantastic. He must have a good owner and good genetics

How wonderful. Do you know what breed/breeds he is? The smaller breeds tend to have a longer lifespan.

He’s a lop and weighs only 3 pounds. Wish I had more specifics, we adopted him when he was 6 weeks old. I’m trying to shrink a pic so I can share.

Just so you know I inserted your image into the post. You had attached it but you need to click on “insert image” afterwards to have it show up
