So the night before last I was petting Wubbie and found a bump on his back. I moved his fur and noticed it was very red and irritated. The first thing that went through my head was spider or centipede bite because we had a pretty bad bug problem in the house recently. So, I called his vet and we went today. She shaved the area, and it is a very irritated red spot, if a bug bite- they got him pretty good. She gave him a shot of metacam and I have a topical ointment as well. I have to monitor it and if it doesn’t go away it could be a cyst or a tumor. She said that tumors are relatively uncommon in rabbits. She is a rabbit savvy vet and I would like to have her added to the list on House Rabbit Society, a few buns even live on the premises! I am devastated and terrified. I want to keep positive because I don’t want him to sense my sadness. I really, really hope it is just a bite. I really don’t want him to have to go under anesthesia, but if it comes to that it has to be done. Anyone have an experience like this!? Please share story with me and/or any advice and keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Need support right now, no one really understands how much he really means to me.

My Badger has a benign cyst near his shoulder blade. Its very small and hard to pick out when he has his thick winter coat. The vet said not to worry about it unless it grows or starts to bother him since its in a weird spot, and so far it hasnt, so we havent done anything about it. I would try not to worry too much about it. It does seem pretty common in rabbits to have a few weird spots
