I’m feeling really down at the moment. As you guys know, I’ve separated my buns and they will remind separated until a month after their spay and neuter. They were free roaming and had access to the entire house together although they stuck to just the downstairs. They were happy,  running and binky-ing everywhere and it was such a joy to watch. Now we’ve had to section off our downstairs into two parts, so Peanut has the left side of the living room and the kitchen and Buttercup has the right side of the living room. Peanut has access to their cardboard castle which they both loved and Buttercup has access to the sideboard which they both liked to lay under. Anyway, our house is small and the downstairs area is small and therefore the sectioned areas for the bunnies are obviously small. It’s not enough for them to run around like they did before and they look so sad. The sofa is in “Buttercup’s area” so she always has company so to speak, but whenever I am in the kitchen, she comes running to her sectioned panels and looks over – She so badly wants to be in the kitchen (and stop me from going in he pantry, the little rascal! It was her favourite thing to do lol, she wasn’t allowed in the pantry so of course that’s all she wanted more than anything else :p) Little Peanut keeps himself to himself, I sit in his area throughout the day so he has company but he’s not as attention needing as my little Butter Bean but I can’t help but feel guilty when I give her attention and not him.

I know I’m rambling but I just feel low. All I keep thinking is I cannot wait til I can ty to bond them and get back to their old routine which made me and the buns so happy.

It can be discouraging to see your pets as anything but happy.
Just remember that this is not permanent, and that you are doing this for the good of your bunnies. They will soon be together again in a large area, something that would not be possible if they remain intact.

That’s what is keeping me going – knowing it’s all temporary. I just wish through bunnies would understand that.

I’m with you STG. Mine are separated, one inside one outside (and can’t come in for long at the moment because the temp difference is too much).

My kitchen ressembles a rabbit warren and I am desperately trying to find someone to bond my bunnies for me. It seems most rescues do not provide this service unless it is one of their rabbits being adopted… I can understand as it is a time consuming job, but they need to realise they could get more money than simple boarding the buns offering this service.

I’ve just phoned a vet practice in South England who I’d heard (from a bunny rescue) had a vet nurse there who had “lots of bunnies” and so was the person to speak to !!
              Great, I think to myself.
I spoke to her… She has 7 buns, but only one bonded pair because she hasn’t managed to bond the other 5 !!!!! So she wasn’t the right person to be speaking to !! LOL

              I. Will. Not. Give. Up.

I hear ya. I am unable to bond my bunnies and it often makes me sad that they are alone and can’t be free roam. At least you will get the chance soon to bond them.

Awwwwww….1 month will past in no time!! The buns will def get over it. You can try switching up their spaces so they can explore different areas. It’s def hard to separate your time between the buns, but they’ll enjoy any time you spend with them.

But talk about waiting…I had to keep my buns separated for a few good months since the female wasn’t ready to be spayed even though she was of age (vet didn’t feel like her lady parts were fully developed).

Btw don’t forget there is about 1 month waiting period even after they’re spayed/neutered to bond them because there still is a chance she can get pregnant!!
