Yesterday I bought some new furniture for the room that would stop muffin being able to jump to places she’s not allowed (she’s gave us a few scares the past couple of weeks) when I let her out tonight she bounced over to investigate the new furniture (normal) then had a dog at my slippers, then at my boyfriends feet and then went to dig my arm (I was quick to get away) I’m just wondering why?? She hasn’t done this before, not to us anyway! I have a little voice in my head saying she could be annoyed at us for taking away all of her “platforms”?

My bunnies dig on people when they dont like something thats happening. For example, if you hold or pet Badger too long, instead of hopping away, he will dig on you until you pick him up and set him next to you instead. My Blue doesnt like print on shirts, so if he is in your lap and you are wearing a print shirt, he will start to dig the shirt

haha thats cute! i was sitting on the floor with her while my boyfriend played games on Playstation and she had a good dig at my slippers until the shoved them underneath her then she hopped over to me and i was petting her then she hopped away and dug at the boyfriends feet then came back and tried to have a go at me  slippers are totally normal (big dinosaur looking things – i think that’s why they get them) i told my boyfriend to start petting her more cause she might be doing it for attention but any time her puts his hand out she runs away  i ended up laying a blanket on the floor with a pillow and lying down with her and she would come over and snigg at my hair and dig at my arm (not aggressive this time though) but when i went to pet her again she hopped away. Bunnies eh ?

Ok I think she is p’d off with something! I went to get her veg bowl out of her cage to give her her dinner veggies and she ‘charged’ at me, she’s never done this before I feel like I’ve done something wrong!

Hm, why does she run away whenever he tries to pet her? Have they bonded at all, or does she not know him very well?

Her messing with you while youre laying on the floor like that could be her making sure youre ok. So when you moved, she knew you were ok and decided to go do something else. Or she thought you were sleeping and she wanted to make sure you were watching her

Is she spayed? Has she ever showed signs of food aggression before?

Sadly she runs away from us quite a lot, more from the boyfriend though. She only lets you pet her once she has tired herself out a bit and decides to flop or relax for a bit sometimes she’lol sit for you to give her a head rub then run away again. Yeah we’be been together since we got Muffin so she knows him as well as she does me but I’m the one who really looks after her (men!) aw bless, she’s never done that before but would make sense as I was tired so buried my head in the pillow a few times! She’s never done it before no, now she’s out ‘playing’ but she’s just sitting in one corner of the room not really bothering with anything.. I’m sitting on the floor a little bit away from her on my phone so if she wants attention or company she can come over

Yeah sorry she is spayed. She’s about a year old now and we had her since she was 8-10weeks old. She sometimes gets aggressive with my boyfriend if he’s moving things about in her cage or trying to get her bowl but she’s never done it with me before and now I think about it she done it last night with me too

If the minor aggression is weird for her, i would start a mini journal to note when she acted out and what was happening around her at the time she acted out. Sometimes behavioral issues indicate a health problem, and other times they are minor hormone spikes that end in a few days, and of course other times its the buns surroundings making them anxious and a bit more jumpy

She sounds like my Bombur Hes more of a bunny’s bun that a lap bun. He likes to do his own thing and only get pets and attention when he specifically asks for it. If you want to work on some bonding techniques, you and your boyfriend can lay on the floor and let her explore you both for a while. This is one of the only ways we can interact with Bombur. The buns like human jungle gyms, lol. Maybe that would also help her learn not to dig on you guys so much unless she really wants you to move

Thanks Mikey! I’ll start a journal for her, will come in handy if she ever does it again maybe then i’ll know the cause of it all
They are crazy little things! My boyfriend was expecting to be able to pick her up, get her to learn her name and run to you when you shout for her.. i think he wanted a dog? lol. i always sit on the floor with her and she wont bother with me maybe come up and nudge me but when i stop whatever i’m doing she’ll run away and i’m not in her way so i don’t know why she does it. I’m going to look up ways i can bond with her, we’re getting our own house soon and planning on giving her half of one of the bedrooms so she has plenty of space to run about in all day while we are at work but then at night we would take her downstairs so dont want her to cause havoc and run away from us when its past her bedtime – wish me luck! Thanks again Mikey
